Some of our best writing comes from our most powerful memories; all of the things you have experienced, all of your family members, all of your likes, dislikes and passions make you who you are today. Our 6th grade students created pieces of writing that paint a picture of all those things that have made each student unique. We are sharing it with everyone who reads our blog so we can all get a glimpse into the lives of the people we share hallways and classrooms with every day.
I am from poem
ReplyDeleteI am from turkey delivery,
with ice like weather and crazy heavy turkeys.
From slippery waterslides at Jellystone park,
with my cousins at a blazing, orange fire.
To setting off fireworks in a ghostly parking lot
and loud booms of rainbow colored and smoke smelling fireworks.
I am from the bushy, green woods,
with brown, baby deer’s and invisible ticks.
From a purple pool table and annoying loud dart board,
too everyone favorite the wooden fooseball table.
I am from lushes hot lava cakes
with smooth, creamy fudge oozing out the middle.
From grandmas homemade, cheesy macaroni,
on chilly Christmas nights or a sizzling summer day.
I am from a crazy broomball party
crowded in my front yard with close neighbors and friends.
From my first time in Disney World,
enjoying the loud screams on Expedition Everest,
to relaxing at the pool with sneaky, lime green geckos.
I am from an adorable, playful boxer pup,
tying to steal food and blocking the T.V.
From rose red sunburns at Mexico age two
and the noisy helicopter ride age eleven with all the inbetween.
They are all on shiny, colorful memories.
I am from the branch of Sherry and Don,
thanking them for putting hot meals on plate every night.
From my older sometime irritating brothers,
packed in the old gray truck on vacations,
to teaching me how to ski.
I am from dance working hard on leaps and turns
for high scoring competition awards.
From camping in our giant camper
only one big vacation a year isn’t a lot for us.
I am a never ending story, everyday is a new chapter, and every vacation is a new section.
I want an interesting story and an interesting life so that’s what I try to do.
