  1. Perfect
    By Natasha Friend
I would recommend the book Perfect because it is about an 8th grade girl, named Isabelle. She goes through typical girl things. School, annoying sister problems, stuff like that. In the book, Isabelle isn’t really that “cool.” Her best friends are Nola and Georgine. She doesn’t really have a lot of fun with them. Isabelle’s mother is quite interesting. She cries a lot at night and Isabelle holds a pillow over her ears and hums herself to sleep every night. Her mother says she’s fine but Isabelle and her sister, April (Ape Face as Isabelle calls her) that she really isn’t. There Aunt Weezy knows that, too.

  2. Number the Stars

I think you should read this book because it is very neat. It describes the holocaust really well. The setting is a city in America. The plot is one family is Jewish and they are friends with a non-Jewish family. The one family has to hide the child from the Jewish family from the Nazis. It is a very suspenseful book. In conclusion it is a very good book for those who like the holocaust.

  3. Title: The Hunger Games

    By: Suzanne Collins

When I first started The Hunger Games I couldn’t stop reading it. It started out with details that make you keep reading. It was filled with suspense with a touch of humor. It’s about a girl named Katniss and her little sister Prim. They grew in a very harsh place to live in the country was a rough and a violent place. They held an annual “Hunger Games”. It’s a game like a fight till you finish. You win when you’re the last alive and there are poisonous animals and strong people in the tournament. Whoever win gets a year supply of food. The country is a built of 12 districts there used to be 13 but the capitol destroyed them the capitol is the main place of the country. District 12 is the poorest district. It’s full of coal miners and not so much people in district 12 sign up for The Hunger Games. Katniss is chosen for it and has to kill and survive against the people in The Hunger Games. This is one of the best books i’ve ever read in years.

  4. Attack of the Vampire Weenies
    By, David Lubar

My favorite book is, attack of the vampire weenies by David Lubar. Because it tells weird, creepy, and funny short tales in it. There’s probably over fifty stories inside. David Lubar writes ton s of books just like this if you like this book. They’re very funny too. One of the stories is called “you are what you eat”. It’s about a kid who is dared to eat five year old baby food. Then he turns into a baby! That is my favorite book and why I like it.

  5. The Maze Runner
    Author: James Dashner

I would recommend this book because….. This kid named Thomas is in a big metal box that arrives in the glade (an unknown place). When Thomas arrived in the glade he could only remember his name. Every month a new kid comes up in the box. Also every single night/day the Mazes doors open and close and they change routes every single night too. If you stay out in the maze at night, the greviers will sting you. But one day after Thomas arrived, a girl does, the first girl to ever come to the glade. And she arrived in a coma!! Will Thomas ever solve the Maze?

    The Scorch Trials
    James Dashner
I think the Scorch Trials was a very good book because the characters were very brave. The beginning of the book is very suspenseful due to kidnapping. All of the settings are very interesting. One of the settings is a pitch black tunnel with killer metal balls that slice your head off. Another one of the settings is the outside world, but it’s at least 110 degrees all the time! The Gladers have two weeks to get to the safe haven 100 miles to the north to get the cure of the Flare. It’s not all easy; they must go through wind, rain, sand, and lightning storms. Plus, they must fight of man eating Cranks. Thomas is very special, and after he was able to get him memory back, they were able to escape the maze. But the maze wasn’t the end. The Scorch Trials will tell you what will happen and if they can survive the Scorch.

  7. Pendragon
    By D.J. Machale

I would recommend the book Pendragon, by D.J. Machale. This author is one of the best authors in my book. Here is why, the author writes all of these stories about you and me. But these people are special, they are called travelers. They go from territory to territory helping that territory with its turning point in time. But there is only one thing stopping them SAINT DANE! He is this nasty guy who tries to cause chaos in that territory.

  8. Cut
    By Patricia McCormick

There’s an amazing book called Cut by Patricia McCormick out in this world. I recommend this book for YOU to read this because it is 6th grade material and really interesting. It tells a little about how/why people are in mental hospitals. The main character Callie cuts herself. Why? No one really knows. But, she is put into a mental “home” for it. Other people in this story are in here thinking they are over-weight and choose to throw up their food. Sometimes, they would also starve themselves. (Yikes!) Another thing, Callie likes running. But, she can’t go outside of Sea Pines UNTIL she is at a higher level. (Sea Pines is the hospital.) Also known as “Sick Minds” says Callie’s friend Sydney. A BIG thing to know, Callie can speak but, for some odd reason she won’t. She has LOTS to say though. Well, that there, was a little summary of the story. I hope you will love it as much as I do!

ANOTHER NOTE: Later on in the story. CALLIE WILL START SPEAKING! But, what will she say? Read the book PRETTY PLEASE and figure out what she says!

  9. Soul Surfer
    Bethany Hamilton

Soul Surfer is a amazing book. Bethany Hamilton tells you how she saw the attack went and how long they had to wait for the ambulance. You should read this book because Bethany Hamilton could inspire you to keep moving forward even if things are hard just keep trying. There is a movie to if you have already seen it the book is way better. In the book I read it told you about the actors that played her in the movie. She explains how the shark attack went in her own word which is really good you would think you were there when you read it. I think you would really enjoy this book!

  10. Dork Diaries
    By: Rachel Renée Russell
I recommend Dork Diaries because it is such a funny and entertaining book .It is about a girl named Nicki who goes to a new school and some girl named Mackenzie and she is making her school year a disaster and she says that her family is making her life miserable and nobody likes her only her friend’s zoey and Chloe. The book is really interesting and amazing that it would make me laugh. But it is setting an example to be yourself and that you are a great person no matter what people say and to be friendly to others and to pick good choices. The book has a lot happening in the book and when you are done reading the book it makes you say ‘wow I wonder what will happen in the next book’.

  12. Dear Dumb Diary by Jim Benton
I recommend Dear Dumb Diary because it’s really funny and it’s a good book to read if you prefer funny books. Jamie’s (main character) aunt is getting married to the vice principal, but Jamie doesn’t like it. Jamie has an enemy, an art teacher that puts glitter on everything and a very weird dog named Stinker. Jamie always hears her art teacher saying “Glitterifick”. Jamie writes everything in her diary, weird, funny, sad, happy, and sometimes dumb things.

  13. Title: Holes
    By: Louis Sachar
I recommend Holes by Louis Sachar. The reason why I would recommend this book is because it has a lot of suspense. Also another reason is that it is a mysterious book not like any other book. Holes is a book about a boy named Stanly who was accused of taking shoes from a famous baseball player. After that he went to court and he had a choice of going to jail or Camp Green Lake. Stanly chose Camp Green Lake. Stanly did not commit a crime because someone through the shoes and he got hit in the head with them. Every day at Camp Green Lake Stanly and the other boys would dig holes 5 foot deep and 5 foot wide. The only reason to not dig the holes is if they found something interesting. If you found something interesting you would be drived to your camp and you would get to rest. People hate it at Camp Green Lake because it is steamy every day and it all depends how much time and crime you committed you have to dig holes every single day. Anybody could run but, Camp Green Lake has the only water in 100 miles so nobody dares. That is why I loved the book so much I read it in three days. I recommend this book to whoever likes mystery and wants a good book to read.

  14. A Child Called It
    Dave Pelzer
I would recommend this book to all sixth graders. It is about terrible child abuse, so bad it could cost the child his life. One of the reasons I love this book is because it is an autobiography so Dave Pelzer (the author) is abused by his own mother. He is no longer part of the family he is now basically a slave. A slave who is no longer called David but who is called ‘It’. Now David must understand his mother’s games and know what to do to please his mother. The littlest thing like taking his hand out of the sink (when washing his hands) will cause the mother to slap him. If he starts crying, another slap. His mother also rarely feeds him, one time he had to survive over 10 days of hunger, no food at all. I think the worst thing is that he has two older brothers who don’t get abused and get to sleep on actual beds instead of an old coat in the garage like David. This book teaches you to not take things for granted and even if you think you have life bad you probably don’t have life as bad as poor David.

  15. Stolen Children
    By: Peg Kehret

I would recommend the book Stolen Children written by: Peg Kehret to another 6th grader because if you love suspense stories this is the book for you. This book is about 2 girls named Amy who is 14 and the new babysitter, and Kendra the little 3 year old who likes carrying around a little stuffed cat named Tubby. They are both kidnapped and taken out to the woods and are being hidden and there is videos that are being sent to their parents saying they are both ok. To get them back they need to pay a ransom after a full week. Amy, hoping her friend read her spy story amy was using the clues in the storie in the videos like kind of where they are and how they got there, hoping someone, anyone will find them like maybe people riding horses by the cabin seeing them but who knows what’s going to happen. Read the book Stolen Children written by: Peg Kehret it will blow your mind.

  16. Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Ugly Truth

You should read this book because it has a lot of funny parts in it. For example: Manny puts on Greg’s head gear. Another example is when Greg goes to the dentist and the dentist shows him a rotten tooth in a jar full of soda.

  17. Percy Jackson
    By Rick Riordon

You should read Percy Jackson by Rick Riordon because if you’re looking for a book with action and adventure, you’ll like this series. Before I read this series I hated reading. I always got bad grades and never read unless I was forced to. This series changed my reading career as a reader looked up the top 20 series in America and it was one of them, and there making new series related to Percy Jackson right know. I hope you like the series and more.

  18. The Help
    By Kathryn Stockett
I recommended The Help by Kathryn Stockett because it is about a hard time in history and you learn a lot from this book. The main thing I learned about this book is that just because someone is a different gender or anything other than normal doesn’t mean you have the ok to judge or treat them differently by their race .I know kids who have been bullied and hearing what kids say makes you aware of what’s really going on it their lives. Another reason I recommended this book is because some parts can be pretty funny like when they describe things. In one part of the book a black girl is trying to find a job but she has a bad reputation thanks to a white lady that dislikes her. She is sweet but has a big mouth and that’s what got her fired in the first place. A girl named Aberline nannies a little girl named May Moblie. May Moblie has a white mom and she is white to. The mother doesn’t care about her and has slapped her. Aberline tries to stick up for her but that doesn’t work to well! This is a great story and you should really take the time to read it! If you like inspiring stories you should definitely read The Help!

  19. Deep and Dark and Dangerous
    By: Mary Downing Hahn

I would recommend Deep and Dark and Dangerous because it’s one of my favorites. It’s filled with a whole bunch of mystery, adventure, and lots of surprises and twists! It includes a ghost girl that came to haunt the people that accidently killed her or should say drown. The girls that made her drown on accident never told the truth and said they didn’t do it. Why would they lie, it was an accident right? I totally recommend this book. It pulled me into it on the first page. I couldn’t put it down. That was the book I read the fastest, I read two hours of it each night because I couldn’t put it down I was in love with it! This book is actually pretty scary. So if you want a good book pick Deep and Dark and Dangerous. I bet you will love it to. This is why I would recommend this book! Hope you enjoy it!

  20. The Black Book Of Secrets
    By: F.E.Higgins
The book the black book of secrets is an outstanding book because the author goes into very specific details like on page 166 “he took her bloodless hand in his and kissed with great ceremony.”I also love how the book talks about how on page 123 they talk about Mr. Ratchet saying “Joe Zabbidou has come to our town in the middle of the night without warning appearing out of no wear with his fancy goods.” The author makes his stories puzzling mystery. the author literally paints a mental picture in your head you feel like you are actually there acting as the main character .

  22. The big field
    By: Mike Lupica
I would recommend reading the big field because it’s about a baseball team that has an MLB team name but the teams are like 8th 9th graders .One team made to the finals and won all of their games. They always start off losing but then they come back and win the game. Two kids who are very good at catching, throwing, hitting and running hit grand slams a lot. One kid was up to bat and bases are loaded the ball was coming and he hit it and hit a grand slam they were down by two but that hit won them the game.

  24. Prediction for Freak The Mighty

I think his dad will abduct him and start a new life. they will meet up with Iggy and Loretta. They rent a car and travel out of the state. But, grim and gram call the cops. Then, they see these giant foot prints and car tracks and follow those. Then, Freak starts yelling the periodic table. Killer Kane gets so annoyed he goes outside to strangle him. When he gets out there, he gets tazed by a bunch of cops.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Prediction for Freak: I think that it is Tony D because he probably wants to get revenge because Max and Freak called the cop’s on Tony D and his crew. Or maybe it’s Killer Kane because it seems like the words “I promised id be back” means it’s been forever since I’ve seen you .Or Killer Kane wants to apologized to Max for leaving. Or it’s Freak because he is joking. Maybe It’s his mother cause it seem like a mother would say ‘I promised id come back’. Or maybe Gram joking around. Maybe he is dreaming an making all of it in his mind.
